Student Council 2017-2018
"Working together to help others"
Number Day is a great way to make Maths a really fun experience.
We also raised £155 in donations for the NSPCC, to help with the very valuable work they do to help prevent cruelty to children.
Spring Clean Up
We took part in the Spring Clean Up and picked up litter from the outside perimeter of our school grounds where we collected 2 big bin liners of rubbish! This was a great way to help our community and it helped us to realise how important it is not to drop litter and to keep our environment litter free.
On March 23rd, the whole school took part in a sponsored run for Sport Relief to raise money for charities in Africa and the UK.
After collecting donations during Lent, for a local charity, we delivered the items and had a tour of the centre.
We were warmly greeted by Tom (volunteer) who showed us around and chatted to us about the wonderful work the charity do.
By the end of our visit many of the children were wanting to become volunteers!
Healthy Eating Week
As part of Healthy Eating Week, and our aim to encourage children to eat at least 5 a day of fruit and vegetables, we made over 200 fruit smoothies and sold them for 20p.
All our hard work, chopping, slicing and blending, paid off as the children thoroughly enjoyed them and thought they were delicious!
Our kitchen staff also made some delicious fruit kebabs for us at lunchtime.
The People's Kitchen
Some of the children were so moved by their visit they put their thoughts in poetry and a recount.
