Sport - Chris Tomlinson

We are pleased to announce that Chris Tomlinson, a Great British Athlete, has become our Sports Patron.
Chris Tomlinson is a retired English long jumper. He is the former British long jump record holder and he has competed at the Olympic Games (2004, 2008 and 2012).
Chris is originally from Middlesbrough in the North East of England.
In February 2008 he became the world's top long jumper of the year with a leap of 8.18 metres. He won the silver medal at the 2008 Indoor World Championships and competed at the 2008 Olympic Games.

On 20th August 2009, his British long jump record was broken by 1 cm by Greg Rutherford in qualifying for World Championship long jump final. Both Rutherford and Tomlinson progressed to the final. Tomlinson regained the British record in July 2011 with a jump of 8.35 metres in Paris.

In his Athletics career, Chris has achieved many podium finishes, including gaining medals in European and World Championship competitions.
