Friday 26th May
What a beautifully sunny week here at St Cuthbert's! It might be the last week before half-term, but that's not stopped our hard work! A huge congratulations to our fabulous Headteacher's Award winners this week. We are really proud of you all!
We would also like to say thank you to all the children who contributed to our 1p/2p collection. We raised a staggering £176.43! In light of recent events, we have decided to donate the money to the families of those affected in Manchester. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
A special mention also goes to two talented Year 5 footballers, who recently won this impressive trophy at the R&T tour. Mrs Bullerwell is going to need to invest in a bigger trophy cabinet!
We are so proud of all of the children for their efforts this half-term. We hope you all have a restful two-week break!

A huge congratulations to our fabulous Headteacher's Award winners this week. We are really proud of your hard work and determination to achieve and succeed!
We would also like to say thank you and well done to our lovely Year 6 class for the way they approached their SATs. They worked hard, supported each other and the atmosphere in the class was fantastic. Today, they are enjoying a party day and some quality time with their Reception buddies.
A huge thank you to all the parents who have contributed enough treats and sweets to last Year 6 the rest of their time at St Cuthbert's! Mrs Bullerwell has also arranged for a special ice-cream treat to say well done from all the staff and friends of the school. We really couldn't be prouder of you.

We have had a lovely week at St Cuthbert's! It is lovely now the weather is getting warmer and the sun has been making more of an appearance. We would like to wish this week's Headteacher Award winners this week. They have written and calculated their way to a certificate and special sticker and we are very proud of them all. Year 2 were delighted to receive the award for the Tidiest Cloakroom and Year 6 were very proud to be given the Tidiest Classroom award. Both classes will enjoy extra golden time.
We would also like to say a huge well done to Year 6, who have been working extremely hard in preparation for their SATs. They have done us all proud and are an extremely talented bunch!

A huge well done to all of the Headteacher's Award winners this week. We have had some amazing builders, writers, mathematicians and helpers come and collect their certificates special stickers.
Lastly, a huge congratulations and thank you to those children who represented our school at the Sky Sports Games. Through team work, determination and skill, you came away with that amazing winning trophy! Mrs Bullerwell already has her eye on a fantastic trophy cabinet in which to display it.
3rd February 2017
We had a cracking end to the school week in this afternoon's assembly.
Firstly, a huge well done to our amazing award winners. Ms Fas was so impressed with her class, she actually had a grand total of three children receiving Mrs Bullerwell's Headteacher Award!
Year 6 also were the proud winners of the Tidiest Cloakroom Award and will be treated with some extra buddy time next week. Year 1 won the Tidiest Classroom Award and Year 4 went away as this week's Leg Power Champions!
The week ended with an amazing performance of twenty two guitarists playing James Arthur's 'Say You Won't Let Go'. What a triumph it was; they nearly brought the house down with such rapturous applause! A huge thank you to Mr Helm for co-ordinating their performance. We loved it!
27th January 2017
A huge well done to all of our Headteacher's Award winners this week! We have some wonderful talents being shared in our St Cuthbert's family.
Year 2 were the proud winners of this week's Tidiest Classroom Award and will celebrate with extra golden time.
There were double celebrations for Year 4, who managed to walk away with both the Leg Power Award and the Tidiest Cloakroom Award. They must have worked extremely hard this week, Mr Dodds!
This week was rounded off beautifully with an amazing assembly by our lovely Year 3 class, who delighted us with fabulous facts about the ancient Egyptians. It was made even better by the fact that it was the first performance on our new stage which has been kindly funded by the PTFA. We could see everything and hear every word. Really well done, Year 3! You have set the standard of assembly very high for 2017!
20th January 2017
A huge well done to all our award winners this week. We are so very proud of you for the wonderful talents you share with your friends. Just look at those rockets, Year 2!
Year 1 were the proud recipients of the coveted Tidiest Classroom award and have received extra golden time as a reward. We hope the classroom returned to its tidy state after you had finished playing with your games, Year 1!
Year 4 must have had an awesome week because not only did they win the Tidiest Cloakroom award, but they also received a Headteacher's award for the whole class for their marvellous behaviour shown at Robinwood when they were away last week. Well done, Year 4! What an achievement!
Our lovely Reception class received a very exciting award from their friend, Buzz Starlight. They have been receiving messages from Mr Starlight this week asking for help to mend his broken down spaceship. The children worked really hard on lots of challenges to help and he even emailed them to thank them for their efforts. Good luck, Buzz! We hope you can return to your journey through space as soon as possible!
13th January 2017
We have had a day full of celebrations at St Cuthbert's today! A huge well done to our Headteacher Award Winners; you achieved some amazing things this week!
We are delighted to announce that Year 6 won the Tidiest Cloakroom award and Year 2 won the Tidiest Classroom award. Both classes will receive extra golden time as a well-earned treat!
We have also been enjoying birthday celebrations in Reception and Year 6. We had so many that we decided to have a little party with cake and our teddy bears. We even played some party games! Sleeping Lions was definitely Ms Fas and Mrs Haighton's favourite. We have never known the children to be so quiet!
Finally, this week has been rounded up nicely with a lovely sing-song thanks to some very talented musicians and their awesomely inspiring guitar teacher, Mr Ben Helm. These children went away over the Christmas holidays and learnt something new completely independently. We've been treated to songs by John Legend and Clean Bandit, and Mrs Bullerwell was so impressed that she's booked them a slot for assembly! St Cuthbert's really does have the X Factor!
