Computing Curriculum

Computing Curriculum

At St. Cuthbert’s Primary School, we want every child to be engaged and enthusiastic learners of Computing. We firmly believe that children should leave Key Stage 2 with the knowledge and skills necessary not only to progress into the next step of their education, but also with a firm understanding of the Computing Curriculum and it's importance in our lives.

Where appropriate, the computing curriculum links with our creative curriculum topics throughout the year, to enhance and support learning in other subjects. Our children are Digitally literate and enjoy learning and making their way through the world of Computer Science. The curriculum is also firmly linked with other STEM subjects, using their Maths, Science and Technology skills to understand and develop their computing skills. At the heart of our Computing curriculum is E-Safety. At St Cuthbert's children are responsible technology users and each child is given the tools to navigate the digital world safely. Our children understand the importance of being safe online and offline, as well as the consequences of not following key online safety rules.

At St Cuthbert's we want to help children become passionate about technology and understand it's place our  modern lives, as well as using technology to become creative, confident and independent users in the digital world.
