Jewellery, nail varnish and haircuts
Parents are strongly advised not to allow their children to wear jewellery in school as many items of jewellery are potential hazards when worn for games and playtime. Only stud–type earrings and watches are allowed. Elaborate hair bobbles, slides or clips are also strongly discouraged for health and safety reasons.
Children are not allowed to wear nail varnish/false nails or gel nails for school.
Hair colour and style should be smart and appropriate for school. The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts/hairstyles. We define extreme haircuts as hair which is too short (where the child’s scalp is visible or less than a Grade 2) or has designs shaved into it with a shaver. We define extreme hairstyles as excessive spiking and gelling of hair, colouring of hair or having false extensions. Elaborate hairbands and slides are also discouraged. Long hair (both boys and girls) should be tied back, away from the face, at all times.
Please refer to our Uniform Policy for further information or clarification.
